A Perfect World

Some years back, I realised that the world is not perfect. It isn't something that is worth boasting about because to whom in the world would such a thing be a 'news'. But I also realised that the world is not perfect because it is not supposed be. Imagine a perfect world, all perfect human beings, all perfect events, incidents, situations, solutions. Everything absolutely perfect. Where would that lead to? An absolutely predictable, boring world. We wouldn't have all those small surprises that we never expected. We would be deprived of having any opinion, or disagreements. We won't approve or disapprove anything. We won't have any choices. There will be just one single way and we all will be following that path. How does that sound? A perfect world!
From early childhood onwards we have been a given a picture of a perfect world. All those fairy-godmothers and happy-ever-afters. All that honest endeavour rewarded, and evil greed thwarted. But the world is not actually like that. And there is reason. In our own way we all think of ourselves as the heroes, even when we are visibly acting like the evil villains. We have our own justifications and we believe in them. In a perfect world, the justifications won't be our own.
Moreover, come to think of it, if we are all perfect, what happens to the pursuit of perfectness? We won't get any better, we can only get worse. At least, now there is still hope for this world.

PS: I remember having once written a poem on this particular topic. Long time!

Hmm...

I agree.. all of us have our own justifications.. which are perfectly fine in our circumstances and we took best decisions... in the end choice is ours...

Good one...

ya, imagine if the world were perfect, we'll all be replicas of each other... doing the same thing, at the same time... in perfect sync!!

Nah, i wouldn't want to live in a world like that! Thank God the world isn't perfect! :)

Nice way of thinking. But should we really think that way? Everything will be predictable only when our creativity is totally lost. But I dont think that making the world perfect will make us humans loose our creativity. If somebody is happy to live in the Imperfect world that shows that he has learned to survive here, that's it. We all learn to survive, we dont try to make changes for good. Infact what I feel is that we are loosing our creativity by learning to survive. We have to change the world, that's what I think our aim should be.......

I would like you to think about what I said and reply to my opinion.

And Yeah, Nice reading your blogs..........

Tell me, when do we actually try to be creative? Isn't it when we strive for something better. When the world is already "perfect", such a strife has no reason, no meaning. Its when the world is not so "perfect" that we try to reach that point, and in that course become creative.

When I say I am happy that the worls is imperfect, its because, I have something to strive for, because I can make or do something better from it, because there is still hope. It is not because I have become used to it or learned to survive.

Did I make sense? And sorry for the late reply. Had been out of blogging for quite somet time.

I forgot to mention, thanks for your comment. It was nice to see somebody stumble at a inactive blog and leave comment.

why are we looking at perfection as an end to all innovation. Why do we think that everybody will be replica of each other in the perfect world. Till we are humans and not machines, we will remain different from each other.
And till the day we are different from each other we will keep trying to reach ahead of other. All the human attributes as Ambition, emotions will not die in the perfect world. By perfect world i mean the world where everything is be just and according to rules and regulations that we have defined for the society. Indians have defined 4 yugas as Satyuga, kaalyuga etc. So perfect world is the state when we will make it Satyuga. The differences that we have in our society will still be there, but each individual will have respect for others. What do you feel about my opinion.

I didnt think perfect world as that. It was more like something that has irregularities at all. However what I was trying to say through my post is that irregularitits are inevitable. They are probably something that makes everyone/eveyrthing unique.

As for 'satyuga' - even that age had some irregularities. Otherwise Lord Rama would not have gone for vanvaas for no fault of his and Devi Sita wouldnt have had to sit for agni-pariksha.

What do u say?

we define satyuga as an age, where truth always wins at the end. That's what how i want to see my world to be, where performance, hardwork, dedication wins at the end and there is no place for tactics. If somebody strives hard, he will get reward.
Even rama won at the end and rawan had to die.
What I am looking for is a good end to the story.

It is true. We all look fwd to that. That is what life is about. But my point was not that. I wasn't talking about the end because I do not know where the end is. I don't even know if I will live to see the end.

So I was saying that if the world is not "perfect" it is not so, so that we can strive to make ir better. Like you said "If somebody strives hard, he will get reward."

The reward that I was looking at is a little improvement of this imperfect world. :)

It is worth fighting for your views in this world. The world was never good nor bad.It is the just dynamically balanced between both side. There was never a time when all people were happy or sad but it will also be not coming in future. The world is just place made by our desires...

@yayavar

you put it quite well.
although i am not so sure if it dynamically balanced b/w both side.
I would rather say, it is forever swinging more like a pendulum. :D

we'll not wait to see what happens to the world.. just because we might not be there to see the good end... we have to try to make it a good end.. whether we are there at the end or not...

Just another year

This is my second new year after I shifted back here. Last time went in a blur. I sat in a corner, remembered the last new year and cried. ...
