Counterview - "The Search"
>> Thursday, January 26, 2006
On my usual expedition of blogsville, i came across this I just want to be happy . A beautiful poem in which the essense of sorrow is brought forth in few lines. And the first part is good, she questions some of the basic activities of all of us.
Okey, so as soon as I read the poem, some thoughts flashed in my mind and I captured them in a poem of my own... here are the lines :
The Search
Melancholy is for sure
Something we all endure
Yet close our eyes to
But then isn't it true
Hopes we all clutch
Dreams we all search
God is out of our reach
Yet it is Him that we beseech
And the faraway moon of skies
Doesn't it give calmness to the eyes
Why then should we not gaze at it?
At night the burning lights are lit.
And the dream and tiny wishes
That each of us relishes
Gives us a reason to rise again
To transcend all hurting pain
Close your eyes and smile
Live your life for just this while
Your face no more will be blank
Raise your hopes that earlier sank
In the empty roads before you
There lies many moments new
Happiness, my friend is a state of mind
That only in yourself you can find
Something we all endure
Yet close our eyes to
But then isn't it true
Hopes we all clutch
Dreams we all search
God is out of our reach
Yet it is Him that we beseech
And the faraway moon of skies
Doesn't it give calmness to the eyes
Why then should we not gaze at it?
At night the burning lights are lit.
And the dream and tiny wishes
That each of us relishes
Gives us a reason to rise again
To transcend all hurting pain
Close your eyes and smile
Live your life for just this while
Your face no more will be blank
Raise your hopes that earlier sank
In the empty roads before you
There lies many moments new
Happiness, my friend is a state of mind
That only in yourself you can find
So since i have no paper at the moment, this is the only place where my thought has been preserved :).
Waise my sincere thanks to Neetie, because of whom this poem materialised. :)
[by the way, suggest me a title if you can, i have run out of titles :D]
[edited:Taking Anks' suggestion the poem has been titled "The Search"]

Hi,
Now thats a nice poem....
How about calling it The search?
(you have trouble coming up with titles as well? Welcome, to the club!)
Hi Anki ! :-)
Wow ! Again a nice spontaneous creation from you !.. I read I just want to be happy and enjoyed it verily... and this one (no dont take it for monotonicity or any unfortunate thought.. I hope you realize it's a compliment)- is in your signature style of elegantly playing with words to make the reader have a special feeling of smile from within...to recognize that Life is random but Happiness is a matter of choice... as in the last paras of Reflection Pt.II also :-)..
know what! a few min before I read both these poems.. my state of mind had actually crossed very similar conditions n feelings.. i.e. very gloomy initially and then all full of joy and hope... and then to experience it all tailormade in words was so very wonderful :-)..
Keep writing sister !
God Bless You !
