Another new year.

Hi ppl!!!!

Wish you all a very Happy New Year :).

New year is a time of renewing hopes, aspirations, dreams. New year means new opportunities, new gateways and new resolutions. Resolutions - that are broken too soon (so I stopped making them). And with all those new things that new year brings, new year is also a reminder that we are leaving behind another year. (On a pessimistic note, a step towards 'death' :D). New year is the time to look at the past year and sometimes even beyond that. So what did I leave behind this year - a few more friends with whom I don't have contact, some thoughts that no more come my way, and an eventful year. Eventful. I started blogging. Found some new friends. Learned to live for myself. Completed my 100th poem. Some really new lessons of life also came my way. And enjoyed a lot. (I wonder if I say the same thing at the end of every year)

Look, here is a new day
That comes knocking your door.
Not just dreams and aspirations
A New year has to be much more.
Yes, leaving behind is a part too
A year that has given much
Some dreams that came true
And some that did fall and crush
But the pieces of broken dreams
Were quietly swept away
So that they are remembered
Never again another day
And on the ruins of those
Once some soaring high dreams
Rests the foundation of hopes
That today much more means
You think I am gloomy
Crying on broken glasses?
But shouldnt we look at
The time that forever passes?

A new year brings so much with it
Yes it is a wonderful thing
On each new year, we celebrate
A new dawn, another begginning
Yet amidst those smiling faces
And the many new year wishes
The corners still steal my glance
Where lies those broken pieces.

Wishing you all a happy new year once again. I am sorry if my poem reflects a darker side of new year, actually some friends say I have a habit of looking 'beyond' :D .
