If only this world was as we perceive it.
No, I am not compalining, but as usual just wondering.
And this is what actuated the gears of my mind.-
"The rejection of certain propositions because they contradict cherished beliefs is more common than we realize. We underestimate the extent to which our desires can influence what we accept to be true. We concieve of ourselves as eminently rational; everything we hold true to be considered the most reasonable position. This is an illusion, however. In our saner moments, we all realize that it takes little or no evidence to convince us of what we dearly want to be true and, while no amount of evidence will covince us what we cannot accept"
Well, the above view is not mine. It has been cut and pasted from something I read. But the pondering is mine, for sure. So, 'truth' or for the matter 'belief' is all relative. Does that mean, reality does not exist? Is this world we live in, all imaginary just beacuse it is all dependent on our perception. But then how can each individual's imagination be just the same. How can we all imagine the world in the same way? So this must be real. Isn't it? May be. I am not sure.
All of us must have seen a rainbow. And if we see it, we will definitely tell someone around us, "look, there is a rainbow". The other person will see it too, hardly realising that he was actually looking at a different rainbow. Scientifically, one rainbow can be seen only from one angle, so if another person is able to see the rainbow, it must be a different rainbow, one visible due to dispersion of sunlight from another water drop, that which is not visible to the first person. However both of them are sure they are looking at the same rainbow. Interesting, isnt it? The problem arises when one of the rainbows cease to exist.
Who knows, may be this 'world' or 'reality' is similar to the rainbow.
Never mind. I was just wondering. If you don't feel like, just forget it!

Hi Anki!!!!
Nice new look fr sure ! :)
For the post, I'd like to sum up in 3 words - IT DOESN'T MATTER !... yes ! The extract is subject to arguments for it portrays more of an insane mind than a saner one - fr ex. every sane human recognizes defeats which he/she may never accept - while it is the mind of a mad person who can never believe it to be true- so that there are numerous cases in which mad people live in their own utopia - where they're always happy n full of bliss for they won't accept anything oherwise- never to see what they dont like - the normal persons usually DO have courage to accept everything - the way we percieve it however - whether to grieve or to be happy - is a choice we all make.
Yes belief is relative then, and then the world itself might be only an illusion, but it doesnt concern me - for life as we can think(conscious/subconscious) and act- is real to us right now, and so will be death - when these facilities will be withdrawn.. and I don't believe we can achieve any higher purpose in this life only by allowing ouselves to devote in such apparently philosophical or profound thoughts instead of performing action - 'the karma' :-)
Why go even this deep into questioning our existence? It can start from a query as primitive as what's death and why we are here??... Honestly sister- I know what I want from this life (as I know it - farce or real or whatever), and I know tht any desire to know the absolute answers to such deep questions is futile for there can never be a firm authority who can reply these.. we'll always have to give in our belief to accept those... and to indulge in any excessive absorption for the answers can only be an activity ideal for leisure...but never to occupy one's mind at time of work :D !!!
Ah as for the predictions of your personality - as you can see - they're pretty diverse, the one related to your B'date is quite different from yourself (I dont say opposite, may be the intensity or direction is different) .. it was nice to know of your element - for I believe even you'd have liked to have it as Wood :)...Umm I never believed in such predictions..(how can it be determined by others - when we ourselves are changing so dynamically).. so cant say much abt it :D
Take care !

Does reality exist? Yes, it does... what you see, what you touch, what you smell is real... our beliefs are only in our minds.. its the feelings, the ideas, the perception thats in our minds that makes up imaginations. And within each one of us, they exist together...
